Outfit - Chill Saturday

If I'm walking down the street or in the subway it seems many fashion associated billboards have focused on colored denim (in bright nuances or pastels) this season. The two most recent I've seen is Gina Tricot's and Levis, so I thought why not wear these jeans today and a floral top.

I found these old magazines The World of Interiors from the early 90s and at the back side of each magazine I found Versace, YSL and Chanel's beautiful ads.

Today's Craving - Picasso Sweater

Photo: Fashion Gone Rogue
I found this editorial from Harper's Bazaar (Russia); the model Daga Ziober has a giraffe neck and pulls off this Picasso inspired sweater. I also love the small bag that look slike a retro radio.  You should check out all of the photos from the spread (HERE), it's cool and unexpected styling that you don't want to miss.

White Guide Gala

The White Guide Gala is an award ceremony for the very best of all Swedish restaurants and bars, the event was held at Grand Hotel in Stockholm. As you can imagine there were incredible appetizers circling at all times in this beautiful hall called "Winter Garden".

The hostess Alexandra Pascalidou wore a gorgeous dress from Ida Sjöstedt (above, far right).

This Month's Style Icon - Caroline De Maigret

Since I saw Caroline de Maigret at a bar named Le Sans Souci in Paris where the band The Parisians was playing,  I've loved her cool look. The band was sitting on the bar counter looking a bit trashy but hot, their lead singer's appearance reminds of Mick Jagger's.  Before the gig I'd fallen in love with their video (watch it here) and I had no idea Maigret was their producer then. But after a song or two I turned around and she was standing just next to me looking like the ultimate chic Parisienne woman, also watching them play some fantastic acoustic songs.
But more recently I noticed her at NY fashion week, she was wearing a yellow blazer over an all-black look. One can see miles away that she's a former model but few dresses so effortless and looks smashing.

New Talent in Paris

Sophia Kokosolaki

The up-and-comers showed impeccable taste in Paris, maybe more so than the renowned fashion houses. Through this post I want to highlight these three rising stars (who haven't seen many fashion seasons). Sophia Kokosolaki really nailed it with everything from the dresses' silhouettes to the cool black and white boots. It looks like clothes for the modern goddess.

 Paule Ka
I wrote about Paule Ka last season and I was so happy that I found them, not only because they stand out from the bunch but each piece has its own twist. Just look at the black gemstone dress  and the snake skin gloves which are red on one side and yellow on the other (I want those). I think it's fun that it's actually a Parisienne label when one instantly thinks of London.  Look at my post about their spring collection here.

Pedro Lourenço

In some ways many pieces reminded me of Prabal Gurungs S/S 2012 collection but there's so much more to it, just look at the see-through dress with a horse print, isn't it marvelous?

Outfit - Elle Party

You can't go out without tights, spring has still not arrived. It's such a shame though, becuase I would love to have these gladiator heels with bare legs. The magazine Elle held a party at the newly renovated Vero Moda store in Stockholm. The cold weather made me change things up, instead of a short-sleeve leather jacket I wore an American baseball jacket (which, if it slipped you by, is very trendy this season).

Paris Fashion Week

 Balenciaga A/W 2012
This is one of my absolute favorite collections from Paris, every single look is fresh and futuristic like a 2012 collection should be. The most fierce piece was the grey PVC jacket (far left) which also comes as a coat. There were quite a few knee-long skirts, divided into three squares in different patterns, the red leather one seen above is hot. The model wearing it, looks a lot like Kristen Stewart who actually sat front row and as you might know is the new face of Balenciaga.

 Balmain A/W 2012
Since Christophe Decarnin's rock-chic S/S-08 show, Balmain hasn't hit the high note. The new designer Rousteing didn't succeed directly when he took over, but now when he's gotten used to his new position and also used Fabergé patterns as inspiration he truly made a collection worth it's former masters.

Outfit - The Artist Screening

We went to see the new silent movie The Artist before it premiered, a great event that made everyone who attended dream of the 1920's. It was held at the oldest cinema in Scandinavia; we were greeted by men in frocks and high hats, of course we walked over a red carpet and avoided the huge chandeliers (you easily caught fire). There where trays filled with wrapped chocolates, the classical Coca Cola bottles lined up, pepparmint rocks and popcorn in cons. Everyone was dressed for this specific era which contributed to a perfect atmosphere for a screening like this. On top of this, before the movie started they showed commercials from back in the day.

Best Covers This Month - March

Bianca Balti (last month's style icon) covers Vogue (Japan), in a beautiful gemstone covered corset from Dolce & Gabbana (Eva Mendes wore the exact same one on the cover of Marie Claire this month).

Frida Aaasen looks cool with her spider lashes on the cover of Dazed & Confused. The monkey makes this cover unforgettable, the jacket is cool but doesn't take the attention away from the yellow creature.

Filippa Hamilton strikes a powerful pose on the cover of Spanish Elle. Dolce & Gabbana really has a strong S/S collection as mentioned above and is used on several covers this spring. This dress comes from the D & G line, if you remember almost every single garment was made out of scarfs.
